King Park Development Corporation acquired the historic property at the corner of 16th and Lewis Streets, commonly called Tinker Flats. King Park received more than $1.3 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding from the City of Indianapolis to preserve the building and remediate environmental conditions at the property. Renovation will begin soon and the building will include a combination of office and retail space. Located along the Monon Trail, the Tinker Flats building spur additional commercial and residential development in the area.
